Here We Go—Site Launched

And so another website has born to the vast fullness of Internet space. Its focus will remain on video games, but its content will be open to my other interests, such as music and dance. Consider Taso a site about video games with a slice of life to go alongside. Speaking of its name, Taso means level in Finnish, which should suit to the theme. Taso can also be defined as quality and class, both of which hopefully remain high around here.

Unlike on the majority of video game websites, the aim of this site is not to act openly hostile and feel overly cynical about everything. Yet like on most gaming sites, its goals do include being entertaining and humorous—maybe even insightful and easy to read, something to the likes of Ernest Adams and Paul Graham.

I have designed this site to be easy to use, yet not patronising. There will be no animations, pop-ups, or windows flying around nagging about cookies or feedback. The narrow column format should provide both better readability and the feel of a real publication.

As Mr. Graham aptly put it: “Build it, and they will come. Make something great and put it online.” However, on this day and age with the overwhelming mass of content online, the certainty of these classic proclaims is in alarming decline. Will this site be able to bring back at least some of the Net's lost individuality and creativity, as stated by the site’s webhost, Neocities?

Hopefully, we’ll see that very soon!
